Just yesterday there was a 5+ magnitude earthquake here in Spain (on the south), preceded by a 4+ one. It's not that strong, but maybe because the place and the people wasn't properly prepared for it it caused quite some damage, many injured and arounf 10 deaths
I know this may sound as nothing compared with major tragedies with earthquakes around the world, but we are not used to it and it was quite a shock. The southern part of Spain suffers from soft earthquakes often, but rarely happens something.
Since I live in the center I didn't felt it at all, but still was pretty shocking. So much that I plain didn't believe it at first. I though my mother had missheard some news. Sadly, it was all true.
I heard that some of the most damaged buildings were new ones. You know, the building companies skip this and that because it's cheaper, and then this happens. What the hell were they thinking? :/
I hope everyone there can go back to their homes as soon as possible and that the injured get well soon. A big hug to everyone.
I have a friend that just flew over to Spain;;; Hope he's okay too x_x!
There seems to be a lot of Earthquakes though lately... hopefully everyone wakes up and start preparing x_x...
and stay away from brick buildings. (Geo Class Advise)
Thank you. No need to worry about me
Thank you. Here we didn't even felt it, so no need to worry
Still sorry about what happened to the others in Spain. Hope everyone who got caught in it will be well...
Me too...
