As you may know, there's been odd rumors of Viz cancelling KHR english manga due to vols 17 and 18 troubles, like them being removed from shop listings, delays and such.
I had 17 preordered, and was delayed several times. Today they completely cancelled my order. They said the provider was unable to stock this item anymore.
What pisses me most is how Viz has not said a word
YET about this. They didn't said if they will cancell the series or not, or what are they exactly doing/gonna do. I don't think a little press note would hurt that much. It makes them look like a not serious business.
Their bad translation and inconsistencies with names, terms, etc have gained them many critics, and many turned to scanlations only. Industry complains about this a lot, but really, what do you expect with such things, like poor quality items, sudden unnannounced cancels/delays, etc...? Even I who like to support manga, and but a lot feel like they don't deserve the support.
Someone told me she followed scanlations while buying the
original Japanese manga (which is cheaper, btw) and I think it's not a bad idea at all. You still support the original artist, whithout having to suffer such misstreat by translation publishers.
CD Japan has all the manga books at goot price and the shipping is not killer either, if anyone is interested.
With all this said, there's still other publishers that do a very good work (I like how Dark Horse is releasing Bride of the Water God, or the omnibus edition od Clover with the art gallery at the back, and I also like Yen press for respecting the original edition as much as posible, etc...)
Well, rant end. I'm very pissed =3=
same here. going to buy it soon!
On another note, I thought I'd tell you that my husband got me Suikoden I and II for Christmas. I now own 1-5, Tactics, and Tierkreis. I'm so excited. I beat Suikoden I the other day and I'm currently playing II. I have to admit, it really is an incredibly fun and lovely game for when it came out.
Awesome! Suikoden II is so hard to find this days!!! Did he had to pay much for it?
XD Suikoden I is very charming. I remember scenes from it even years after playing it. The deaths the most. So sad T_T
They are releasing manga for Suikoden I and II in japan. I htink there was an scanlation project around, but didn't got too far.
I wanna reply III again too lol But I gotta finish my reply of Shadow Hearts II first XD
I don't know how much he ended up paying for the game, but I was so thrilled when I saw it in the Christmas box I nearly hit him!He wrapped it in some giant box filled with a pile of crap I had to dig through.
Oooo... playing Shadow Hearts II, eh? My husband loves that game. I've not played it, and we only have Shadow Hearts I (which I've not yet beaten). We've been looking all over for Shadow Hearts II because he thinks I'd love it. He played it a long time ago with some friends in school.
lol Please, don't hit him! XDDD Did you finish it? II's start is a bit slow (though I don't mind) but soon it becomes awesome. One of the best scripts of a game ever!
The manga is in english, published by Tokyopop. If you don't find it in local stores, maybe online sites, like Amazon (both US and UK)
Is a rare game and pretty awesome XD I bit less spooky than the first, but with even more humor. It had a huge graphic upgrade, which is nice too XDDD
I haven't finished it yet!
Yeah, that's what hubby was saying. Hopefully one day I'll be able to find it for him again and perhaps play it myself. We tend to give eBay and Craigslist a nice browse through every now and then for rare games. It's surprising the deals you can find.
